In summer, the weather is hot and hot, and the farm must install cooling equipment to survive, and the following is a comparison of the four types of cooling equipment commonly used in chicken farms for reference.
Small exhaust fans, floor fans
Usage: Installed on the gable or ceiling according to the area of the chicken coop, 150 square meters to install one, suitable for semi-enclosed brooding houses, to cool down chicks over 15 days old.
Disadvantages: It has a certain effect on the ventilation and cooling of the chicken house, because the power is small, only about 100W, so it needs to be cooled with ground sprinkling. When the temperature rises above 35°C, the cooling effect is not good.
Wall fans
Purpose: Installed on posts or brackets in the chicken house, installed every 8 meters, generally only used in open rearing houses. Use when the temperature reaches more than 25°C, or when the house is hot and humid, and the ventilation is poor.
Disadvantages: Although the cost is small, it is easy to be damaged due to inadequate maintenance, and the parts are worn and cannot be shaken to blow the wind.
Wet curtains, exhaust fans
Uses: Wet curtain + fan is generally used in egg laying houses, and it is the equipment with the best ventilation and cooling effect at present. There are two kinds of wet curtains: paper wet curtains and tile wet curtains, among which the cooling effect of paper wet curtains is better. The exhaust fan is installed on the gable on the side of the chicken coop, and the wet curtain is installed on the gable of the air inlet, and about 3-4 exhaust fans need to be installed in the 1000 square meter chicken coop, with a wet curtain area of 16-20 square meters. When the air temperature in the chicken house reaches 28 °C, turn on the fan to ventilate and cool down, and open the wet curtain when the temperature reaches 33 °C, this combination can cool the chicken house by more than 5-10 °C.
Disadvantages: The outlet pipe of the wet curtain is easy to be blocked, and it needs to be cleaned frequently, and the water consumption is relatively large; In addition, the length of the chicken coop is not easy to be too long, and the cooling effect is poor when it exceeds 80 meters.
Spray cooling system
Uses: Suitable for laying eggs and rearing houses, a single chicken house can be installed with 4-5 spray tubes, and the spacing between the spray heads and the spray heads on the spray pipes is about 80 cm. When the flock appears to breathe with their mouths open, they can be sprayed once every 15-30 minutes for 2 minutes each time.
Disadvantages: The nozzle is easy to clog and needs to be checked and cleaned regularly.
