The principle of water curtain cooling is a process of isenthalpy cooling and humidification. The outside air passes through the water curtain, and the heat absorbed by the water evaporates into water vapor, and the air loses sensible heat. The temperature decreases and the moisture content increases as water vapor enters the air. The latent heat increases, so that the enthalpy of the air remains basically unchanged. However, the air temperature entering the chicken house is reduced, the air cooling effect is enhanced, and the temperature of the chickens is also reduced.
The premise of using a water curtain
1. The temperature of the outside environment is higher than the temperature required by the chicken coop, and the maximum wind speed adapted to the chicken flock is reached by increasing the ventilation volume, and the temperature of the chicken coop is still rising.
2. The humidity of the chicken coop is between 50-65.
3. It is still very hot when the flock has adapted to the current wind speed.
The above three conditions are indispensable, and blind opening of the water curtain and improper operation may cause adverse consequences.
Water curtains are not recommended in the following situations
In rainy weather, the external humidity reaches 100%, and the water curtain evaporates slowly; For water vapor to enter the house, causing the house humidity to be too high.
Heat stress index = 1.8 * temperature + 32 + relative humidity value, to 155 is the critical value. 160 began to reduce feed intake, water intake, and production capacity; More than 165 of the cardiopulmonary vascular system were damaged, resulting in death.
From the formula, it can be seen that in rainy weather, the relative humidity of the chicken house is the main factor of the heat stress index.
Procedure to open the water curtain
1. Calculate the number of fans to open the water curtain, the purpose is to keep the temperature of the chicken coop from rising when you first use it, and remember that it cannot drop by more than 2 degrees.
2. Calculate the wind speed required to maintain the perceived temperature, the number of fans, and the negative pressure should not exceed 18, and the general standard is that the number of fans starting does not exceed 70% of the total number. The difference between cage chickens and net and ground breeding is the wind speed, and the maximum wind speed in the cage is 70% of the wind speed in the aisle.
3. Wet the water curtain with intermittent water, no more than 1/3 of the water each time you use it for the first time, and carry out the next cycle when the evaporation is complete. The water time control is completely wet from 1/3 to 1/2 ---, the adjustment sequence of the side window corresponds to 0--1/2-completely closed, and the angle of the water curtain panel is 45%--75%--100% to enter the longitudinal ventilation mode.
4. In the case of high temperature and high humidity, the chicken coop can be cooled by increasing the number of fans turned on and increasing the wind speed in the house.
5. The number of windshield curtains can be increased on the roof roof, and it is generally recommended to increase 1 windshield curtain every 7 frames to reduce the effective cross-sectional area in the house as a whole, so as to increase the wind speed in the house and reduce the temperature of the chicken group.
Cleaning of water curtains
The blockage and calcification of the water curtain seriously affect the permeability of the water curtain.
1. After the water curtain is not in use, use a vacuum cleaner to adsorb out the feathers, dust, and flocculents to prevent clogging and affect the air intake effect;
2. Water curtain cleaning
Use a water hose to turn on the natural water flow, clean it from top to bottom, pay attention to the water flow pressure, prevent the water curtain material from being washed away by excessive water pressure, and rinse from the outside to the inside until the water flowing out of the water curtain is clean and clear.
3. Water curtain disinfection

Maintenance of water curtains
