1. Avoid picky eaters. The compound feed formula has a variety of raw materials and comprehensive nutrition, which can prevent animals from picking their favorite food from the powder and refusing to ingest other ingredients. Because pellet feed can maintain uniformity during storage, transportation and feeding, feeding losses can be reduced by 8%-10%.
2. High feed return. In the granulation process, due to the comprehensive effect of moisture, temperature and pressure, some physicochemical reactions occur in the feed, so that the starch is gelatinized, and the activity of enzymes is enhanced, which can make the fed animals digest the feed more effectively, which is converted into an increase in body weight. Feeding poultry and pigs with pellets can improve feed conversion (i.e. return) by 10%-12% compared to meals. Feeding fattening pigs with pellet feed can reduce the average daily weight gain by 4% and the feed-to-meat ratio by 6%, and feeding broilers can reduce the feed-to-meat ratio by 3%-10%.
3. Storage and transportation are more economical. After pelleting, it will generally increase the bulk density of feed by 40%-100%, which can reduce the warehouse capacity and save transportation costs.
4. Good liquidity, easy to manage. Many powders, especially fluffy feeds with low specific gravity, with the addition of molasses or high fat and urea, often adhere to the feed store. Due to its good flow and low adhesion, pellet feed is most popular for farms that raise cows or poultry on a large scale using an automatic feeder.
5. Avoid automatic grading of feed ingredients to reduce environmental pollution. In the process of powder storage and transportation, due to the different volume and quality of various powders, it is easy to produce classification. After the pellets are made, there is no grading of feed ingredients, and the pellets are not easy to dust, and the pellets pollute the air and moisture much less than the powder during the feeding process.
6. Kill Salmonella in animal feed. Salmonella is retained in animal tissues after ingestion by animals, and humans can get Salmonella gastrointestinal diseases when they eat animals infected with this bacterium. The method of steam high-temperature quenching and tempering and granulation can kill Salmonella in animal feed.
